P(A)T joins the APARCA EL MÓVIL campaign, a RACC initiative that under the motto ‘Park the mobile’ is aimed at all motorized vehicle drivers, both private and professional, and focuses on an interactive website designed to help them change this risky habit.

Thus, through the RACC’s ‘Park your cell phone’ website, drivers can better understand the dangers of behaviors such as driving while consulting their cell phone or GPS, making a call or getting distracted to change songs on apps or the radio, driving while fatigued, under the influence of alcohol or drugs, and excessive speed.

The website also proposes the user to reflect on the moments when they drive and feel tempted to use their cell phone and think about actions that help avoid it, to become safer drivers.

Distractions while driving, the main cause of accidents. The majority of traffic accidents caused by motor vehicles in Barcelona in 2022 occurred as a result of lack of attention behind the wheel (23%), as stated in the Barcelona City Council’s road accident report. Likewise, at the State level, inattentive driving was a concurrent factor in 31% of fatal accidents in 2022 (DGT).

The campaign also has the collaboration of the Servei Català de Trànsit, the Mossos d’Esquadra and the Barcelona Urban Police.
