FUTURE PSYCHOLOGISTS
Training and courses
At P(A)T we want to improve day after day the care that victims of traffic accidents receive. For this reason, we also provide specialized training for future psychologists, so that they know how to accompany people who suffer from this type of sudden grief.
On May 4, Pilar Cabrera, delegate of P(A)T in Tarragona, presented to the 2nd year students of the Psychology Degree (URV – Tarragona) in the subject of Applied Social Psychology, the activities of the association and her hard personal experience after losing his son in a traffic accident.
Two sessions were held, one in the morning and one in the afternoon, in which the procedures used in the driving license point recovery courses were presented, in which the testimony of a traffic victim intervenes. The students were able to hear first-hand what the real and long-term consequences of traffic accidents are, how they have an impact on different family members and the long journey it entails for those affected.
Also, the services offered by P(A)T and the specific and different needs of accident victims were presented. The objective of the sessions was for future Psychology professionals to learn about some of the fields of action of the discipline.
The testimony of Pilar, an accident victim, was a lesson in resilience for the students, who were very grateful and attentive in the session where absolute silence reigned to hear her words.
This training is a piece of reality that P(A)T offers to young university students. As long as we do not achieve Objective 0 and there are still victims, we must continue along the path so that, at least, the victims are well accompanied on this arduous path to recovery.
