PEACE IN MOBILITY

We don't want more victims.

According to the P(A)T ideology, the summer months should be those of annual rest, but in mobility it seems to be the opposite. Does the aggressiveness accumulated during the work year take to the streets and highways and join other factors such as the rush to get to the rest point with a few beers to withstand the heat? Do drivers follow the instructions of economic gurus? That is, reaching higher figures than in 2019 also in numbers of accidents, injuries and deaths.

Not everything must go up. Aggressiveness among citizens must be improved every day, month and year. But, what counts is increasing the activity, the sides, the economy, everything. Is it that we don’t know how to distinguish between the positive and the negative in society?

We hear day in and day out attacks where drivers – basically cars and trucks – bear some (or all) responsibility for fatal accidents. Do they believe that their armored vehicle protects them and that running over other road users with less armor gives them permission to circulate like a military tank?

Two, almost three cyclists, lost their lives last week in Castellbisbal. An accident not explained well by the police. Crossing the road from right to left, for no reason, and creating a head-on collision with 8 cyclists. The way in which the attack was committed (frontal confrontation) is much more serious than a lateral friction between the car and cyclists. In this case it is unmitigated aggression.

It is clear that the driver did not control the car. Speeding, combined with drugs, sleep or “I don’t care about anything”? A clear case of road violence.

We return to the idea of vacation – taking life easy. It seems that it does not enter into driver’s education, and in general, that vacations are for resting and slowing down. In general, slow down society, so that we can all have a relaxing time in this super active community in which we live and which causes stress, heart attacks and other ailments.

P(A)T believes that our Government should act more firmly to protect citizens. We see that they act somewhat in the energy and climate crisis (little and late, but there is action). In terms of security and protection of the physical integrity of citizens on public roads, they are going more than slowly. There you can wish for a little more speed.
