AWARDED “UNEXPECTED NEWS” VIDEO

The video "NOTICIAS INESPERADAS" by P(A)T won the first prize in the "Remembrance" category at the eighth edition of the Road Safety Film Festival #GlobalRoadSafetyFilmFestival, being the only Spanish film awarded in the world competition.

The Laser International Foundation (LIFE), in collaboration with the UN Road Safety Fund (UNRSF) and the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) were the organizers of the Festival, whose ceremony took place at the Palace of Nations in Geneva on February 21-22 in blended format.

“UNEXPECTED NEWS”, is the video presented by P(A)T through which it seeks to show the emotions felt by a traffic accident victim upon receiving the news of the death of their loved one. To do this, we summoned a group of relatives to the recording studio without anticipating the question we would ask them. Once in front of the camera, we listen to their versions and receive the impact of their gestures and reactions.

The music was recorded live in the church of Barbera del Valles (Barcelona) performed by the soprano Maria Gabriela Ceaglio from the Teatro Colón in Argentina.

One way to empathize is to put ourselves in the other’s shoes.

Making victims and their consequences visible helps to raise awareness in society to prevent road accidents.
